Qaddafi is not giving up. It’s ten days now since the beginning of the civil war in Libya, and the Rais still stands in his stronghold and in a tv speech threatens a bloodbath if NATO was to intervene militarily. In the meantime its jets have bombed Benghazi and Brega, key strategic ports a few steps away from the rich oil fields. The deads count, among civilians and the revolutionaries, is rising and the clashes between government forces and revolutionaries continue. Our photographer Luca Sola is keeping up on the latest events in the hottest areas of the Libyan conflict, which in addition to civilian casualties is also dealing with a growing refugees’ emergency concern.
Gheddafi non si arrende. Sono dieci giorni ormai dall’inizio della guerra civile in Libia, e il Rais si trova ancora nella sua fortezza e in un discorso televisivo minaccia un bagno di sangue se la NATO dovesse intervenire militarmente. Nel frattempo i suoi jet hanno bombardato Bengasi e Brega, porti chiave strategici, a pochi passi dai ricchi giacimenti petroliferi. Il conteggio dei morti tra i civili e i rivoluzionari è in aumento e gli scontri tra forze governative e rivoluzionari continuano. Il nostro fotografo Luca Sola rimane sul fronte degli ultimi avvenimenti nelle zone più calde del conflitto libico, che, oltre a vittime civili è anche di fronte ad un crescente preoccupazione per l’emergenza profughi.
